Clothing
Sioux clothing was both functional and beautiful. The clothes were made by elk skin, deer skin and tanned buffalo hide. These qualities kept them just the right temperature: not-too-hot, not-too-cold but also blocked the cold winds out in the winter. The style of clothing included moccasins, shirts, leggings, breech cloths, dresses, and capes. The clothes were beautiful too. The Sioux used vegetable dyes to dye porcupine quills and turtle shells to look pretty on their clothing. These clothes may be different from ours but it protected them from the tough elements of the Plains.
